Parents with MS Peer Pod

Peer Pod Parent Button (6th Feb)

This pod is currently on hold until our peer pod host returns. If you have any questions about the pod in the meantime, please get in contact peersupport@ms-uk.org

Every other Wednesday at 7pm and every Friday at 1pm

Our Parents with MS Peer Pod is for anyone who is a parent (in whatever capacity) and is living with multiple sclerosis.

As well as the many joys of parenthood, we also know that it can bring many and varied challenges. Whatever stage, whether toddler, teen, or fully grown – the role of parent isn’t always an easy one and perhaps even less so when living with a long- term condition.

If you are interested in joining this or any of our Peer Pods, or would like more information, please fill in our enquiry form by clicking the button. Vicky, our Peer Support Coordinator will be in touch with you shortly.

We created this pod to provide a welcoming and supportive space for parents to come together, for mutual encouragement and support. A place to share experiences, concerns and coping strategies with others that truly understand.

Jess support for parent with multiple sclerosis peer pod host

Meet your host

Jess

Hello, my name is Jess and I host the Parents with MS Peer Pod.

I was diagnosed with MS in 2017 and started to attend the MS-UK Peer Pods in 2021 at a time where I felt really isolated. I was so nervous when I attended a Peer Pod for the very first time, but I was given such a warm welcome and felt really valued from day one.

The MS-UK community has now become my little MS family, and we support each other through the ups and downs of general life as well as life with MS.

I have five children (I know!)  ranging from ages 8 to 20 – and 2 grandchildren. I have experienced parenting both with and without MS. Parenting is hard enough but it’s a whole new level when you have a chronic condition.

I chose to host a pod for parents, because no-one knows the right or wrong way to parent, but we can muddle through this together. This pod welcomes any parents, regardless of how old your children are – in fact, if you have adult children, it would be great to learn from your valuable experience!

I aim to run a welcoming and supportive environment where everyone is valued.

You’ll be pleased that the peer pod will be held before the school run!

I look forward to seeing you there!
