Starting Wednesday 26 July
Our Wednesday drop-in Peer Pod welcomes anyone living with multiple sclerosis (MS). There is no set theme, so conversations can be around any topics that you’d like, whether MS related or not
This session is hosted by one of our volunteers – Jan and held weekly on a Wednesday afternoon at 2pm. Everyone is welcome, so please do come and say hello – the more the merrier!
If you’re interested and would like to know more, please fill out our sign up form. Our Peer Support Coordinator Vicky will get in touch with you shortly.
Hi there, my name is Jan
I have lived with MS for 25 years and been secondary progressive for about the last 12 years.
I am a retired A&E sister working mainly in Resus for 35 years and because of this I’m told I have a wicked sense of humour!
I am the proud grandma of 3 gorgeous girls aged 7, 6 and 5 who I think are perfect!! (and they keep me very busy!)
I was lucky enough to be signposted to MS-UK by my GP when I found myself having a hard time some months ago, where I was introduced to a very understanding counsellor who helped me return to my normal, happy self.
It is because of this valuable support that I have chosen to volunteer as a Peer Pod host, because speaking to others who completely understand what you’re going through can be so helpful.
My husband repeatedly tells me that I can talk for England (although I promise I’m also a very good listener!) so, I am looking forward to making new friends and can’t wait to welcome you!
