Benefits for MS

Living with multiple sclerosis (MS) can sometimes have an effect on your finances. Benefits are available to help with living costs, support those on a low income, and provide support to those who may not be able to work because of their condition. The benefits available can broadly be split into two categories, ‘disability-related benefits’ and ‘earnings replacement benefits’.

Accessing these benefits can sometimes be confusing. The MS-UK Helpline can support you to navigate the system and provide information on what benefits you may be entitled to. We can help you through the process and signpost you to some useful links to help you complete your forms.

Different benefits have different eligibility criteria. Here we will help to explain the main benefits that are commonly accessed by people affected by MS.

How we can support you

The MS-UK Helpline is available to support you through the process of applying for benefits. The service is available Monday to Friday, 10am to 4pm, and can be reached by telephone, email, or live webchat.

The team all have an understanding of the benefits system. It can be a stressful and confusing time and the helpline can provide you with emotional support as well as further information if required.
