Accessible ‘Changing Places’ toilets

Often standard accessible toilets do not meet the needs of all people with a profound disability. Research from the Changing Places campaign found that there is around a quarter of a million people with a disability that do not have access to public toilets that can meet their needs and it is estimated that includes 8,500 people with multiple sclerosis (MS). Changing Places toilets are larger, truly accessible toilets for disabled people. They are fitted with equipment such as a hoist, curtains, an adult-sized height adjustable changing bench, and space for carers. There are now 1,800 Changing Places toilets across the UK. A great deal of motorway service stations, airports and seaports now have Changing Places toilets. You can use the Changing Places map to find toilets nears you.
