Young adults multiple sclerosis support group

Young Adults Peer Pod

Due to lack of attendance, we are currently suspending the Young Adults peer pod. However, if you are interested in joining, please fill out the contact form and we will update you as soon as we have details about it’s relaunch. In the mean time, do feel free to read more about the online session below or take a look at our other Peer Pod sessions.

MS-UK’s Peer Support service is dedicated to providing support to anyone living with multiple sclerosis (MS).

We understand that receiving a diagnosis at any time in life is difficult, but it can be particularly challenging at a young age. Often, teens and young adults can feel under-represented within the MS community and this can lead to further feelings of loneliness and isolation.

With this in mind, we have created a peer pod for those that are aged between 18 and 35. This pod provides an opportunity for younger people living with MS to connect and speak openly with others to whom they can relate to.

Our peer pods provide a safe and friendly online space for people to connect with others for conversation, companionship, and mutual peer support.

The pod is held fortnightly, and if you would like details for this or any other peer pod, please fill out our form below to get in touch with our Peer Support Coordinator Vicky.

Meet your host Tom!

Hey everyone, my name is Tom, I’m 31 and I was diagnosed with RRMS five years ago in October 2017. I’m currently a Senior Business Consultant for IBM and I’m working full-time (with some arrangements to help me out).

At the time of diagnosis, I had no idea what multiple sclerosis was and it was the first time I had ever heard those two words together! Mentally having MS can be hard but I’ve found being active or involved in things helps. I’m a big football fan, I go to the gym, play golf and run when not injured! (I’ve previously done the marathon for MS-UK). I also can’t forget I’m pretty sociable when my MS allows me to be.

I’ve decided to volunteer even more for MS-UK to help share my experiences with people of a similar age and form a group of individuals who we can all see as being relatable to one another. I can’t wait to meet you all!
