Host a peer support group

Peer Support service

At MS-UK, we believe that no one should face life with multiple sclerosis (MS) alone. Our peer support groups (Peer Pods) offer friendly, inclusive online spaces where people affected by MS can connect, share experiences, and support each other.

We’re looking for Peer Support Volunteers to host our Peer Pods

As a Peer Pod host, you’ll help create a welcoming and supportive environment. You’ll guide relaxed, informal conversations and ensure everyone has the chance to take part if they wish. You don’t need to be an expert or have formal training, just empathy, good listening skills, and a willingness to connect with others.

Why volunteer?

Being a Peer Support Volunteer isn’t only about giving back — it’s about what you’ll gain, too.

  • Share your lived experience to help others navigate life with MS
  • Build connections with people who genuinely understand your journey
  • Develop new skills in communication, facilitation, and empathy
  • Make a difference by offering hope, reassurance, and encouragement
  • Be part of something bigger, a supportive network that helps people feel less alone

Many of our volunteers tell us that hosting a Peer Pod has not only helped others but has also enriched their own wellbeing, giving them a renewed sense of connection and belonging.

What support will you receive?

You’ll receive guidance and ongoing support from our Peer Support Coordinator, Vicky. We’ll provide an induction, resources, and regular check-ins to ensure you feel confident in your role. You’ll also have the chance to connect with other volunteers and share experiences.
