Alan will guide us through the key physical components that influence balance, including the role of the brain, postural control, spatial orientation, visual awareness and how MS symptoms can impact all of these areas.
We’ll explore how balance is regulated by four key systems in the body – the vestibular system, vision, proprioception, and the cerebellum. Alan will break down how these systems work together to keep us upright and moving confidently, and what happens when they’re disrupted.
With live demonstrations and practical tips, Alan will share simple balance and posture-focused exercises in sitting, standing, and walking positions. These movements are designed to engage your sensory and visual perception, activate your neural pathways, and improve body awareness, all with the goal of boosting your balance and confidence in daily life.
