In our recent survey, many of you told us about additional activities that you would like to see added to our online schedule. We have listened and are now in a position to provide taster sessions for some of the popular suggestions, with Qi Gong topping the list.
Join Tracy (our chair yoga teacher) for this free taster session of seated Qi Gong (pronounced Chee Gong). Qi Gong is an ancient Chinese practice, developed to enhance health and wellbeing through focussed movement and breath. There are physical and mind-based components, with a strong emphasis on slow flowing movements, breathwork and meditative practices. Through regular practice you may learn to
Qi Gong is similar but different to traditional Hatha Yoga, which has origins in India. Qi Gong originates in China, developed as part of traditional Chinese Medicine. Today it is practiced all over the world and its slow methodical approach and focus on connection to nature means that it can be enjoyed by many, regardless of ability.
This 45-minute taster session will be entirely seated, although, if preferred, some of the practices may be taken into standing. The session will include an introduction to Qi Gong, settling into the practice itself with flowing movements, breath practice and closing. There will also be the opportunity for discussion.
If the Taster session is successful, we hope to introduce a regular weekly class, with a recording also available in the portal.
To join this session, please login or register in our Portal area. The session is free to join if you have a monthly or year subscription. You do not need a subscription to join, as you can register and provide a donation for the class. The suggested amount for the class is £5. If you unable to make a donation, please contact us to see how you can access the online classes.
