Organise a family fun day

Family fun day for MS-UK

Hosting a charity family fun day is a brilliant way to raise money for MS-UK and support people living with multiple sclerosis (MS). Whether it’s a big bash in your local park or a smaller gathering in your community hall, it’s a fantastic way to bring people together for a great cause.

How to Organise Your Family Fun Day

Step 1 – Decide on your activities

Think about your audience and choose a mix of entertainment, games, and food options. Some good suggestions are

  • Game stalls – coconut shy’s and hook-a-duck games are great fun
  • Live music or DJ sets
  • Arts and crafts stations
  • A bouncy castle, a favourite for the little ones (and even some of the adults)

Step 2 – Set a date and book your venue

Choose a day that gives you time to plan and promote. Parks, school fields, village halls, pubs or even your street (with permission!) can all make great venues.

Step 3 – Rally your volunteers

Get friends, family, colleagues, or your local community involved to help with stalls, setup, and running the day. The more hands on deck, the better!

Step 4 – Fundraise your way

  • You could raise money by
    Charging a small entry fee
  • Asking for donations at activity stations
  • Running a raffle, tombola, or lucky dip
  • Selling refreshments, cakes, or handmade crafts
  • Inviting local businesses to pitch up for a donation
  • Offering prizes for games, competitions, or best-dressed guests

Step 5 – Promote your event

Shout about your fun day! Share it on social media, email your contacts, display posters in shops, schools, and community centres, get it out in local newsletters or newspapers and ask others to help spread the word.

Step 6 – Enjoy the day!

Have fun, take lots of photos, and thank everyone who joined in or helped out. You’re making a real difference.

Step 7 – Send in your fundraising

You can donate your total via our website or contact us for bank details. We’ll be in touch with a big thank you and a virtual high-five!
