Patients in England offered 10-minute Ocrevus jab in place of infusionsPublished: 16 July 2024 Thousands of people living with multiple sclerosis (MS) in England will soon benefit from a quick 10-minute injection, significantly reducing their hospital visits by over 90%. Right now, those taking the drug ocrelizumab (Ocrevus) need to undergo twice-yearly intravenous infusions, which can take four to five hours each time. Following the Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency’s approval, patients will be able to receive the same medication through a 10-minute jab twice a year on the NHS. NHS England will be among the first healthcare systems worldwide to offer this new injection, with it becoming available in the coming weeks. Other Stories You May Be Interested In...
