Factors that worsen outcomes in people with multiple sclerosis and COVID-19Published: 24 March 2021 People living with multiple sclerosis (MS) who have bigger issues with mobility are more likely to have worse outcomes from Covid-19, new research has found. Worse outcomes were also found to be more likely in people with MS who are older, black, have cardiovascular disease, and those who were treated with corticosteroids near to the time of infection. The authors of this study say that having knowledge of these risk factors in patients with MS and Covid-19 may improve treatment and identify those needing more intense monitoring.
