Dan Jenkins steps down as chair of The Oxygen Works

The Oxygen Works, a Highland-based centre of excellence dedicated to supporting individuals with neurological and complex health conditions, announces that Dan Jenkins is stepping down as Chair after a decade of dedicated leadership. Dan, who joined the Board in 2012 and became Chair in 2014, will continue to serve on the Board, ensuring his invaluable experience and insights remain available to the organisation.

During his tenure, Dan has been instrumental in shaping the vision and strategy of The Oxygen Works, significantly enhancing its services and expanding its reach to better serve the community. Notably, Dan helped to steer the organisation through the challenges of the Covid pandemic and a major flood in 2021 that closed the centre for nine months. His commitment to improving the lives of countless individuals has left an indelible mark on the organisation.

Stepping into the role of Chair is Mark Georgeson, who joined the Board in February 2020 and has been serving as Vice Chair. Mark brings a wealth of experience and a deep understanding of The Oxygen Works’ mission and values, ensuring a seamless transition and continued growth.

Additionally, Helen Lavery, a Regional Partner at Zero Waste Scotland who joined the Board in November 2019, will step into the role of Vice Chair. Helen has been involved with The Oxygen Works in her previous role as Senior Project Manager at Highlands and Islands Enterprise, giving her a broad and long-standing relationship with the organisation. She brings a great range of skills and experience to her new position.
