Neuro Moves

Fridays from 11:30am

New for 2023 we will be introducing our ‘Neuro Moves’ classes which provides the understanding of brain-based movement to lessen the effects of MS and find the right exercises to reduce the impact of symptoms. 

In the classes Amanda will teach you a range of exercises that are simple yet incredibly effective movements to create new neuromuscular connections, whilst discovering and applying movement fundamentals to work on strength, balance and gait that ultimately empower you to move better. 

The classes will be split into two, one from a seated position which will include exercises for arms, head, truck and some leg movements. The floor class can be followed along using a mat on the floor in kneeling and lying positions which will include a range of exercises for the whole body. Please see below timings for the classes,  

Session 1 – Seated Neuro Moves 11:30am – 12pm 

Session 2 – Floor Neuro Moves 12:15pm – 12.45pm 

Amanda’s workouts derive from her experience and training with the ground-breaking and science-backed Neuro Studio and using Pilates expired exercises. Some of the concepts that the classes explore are ways to manage spasticity, how your eyes impact your balance and gait (walking) and the connection between seemingly unrelated areas of the body such as the jaw, pelvis and leg strength. 

This class will provide insight in to how functional exercises can be practiced to improve a range of MS related issues and a deeper understanding of how working opposing areas of the body (e.g. right arm, left leg) can improve daily movements. 

The classes will consist of 30 minutes of movement plus time at the end for discussion. 

We have a suggested donation for all our classes of £5, but you can make a donation of your choosing from of £1. If you unable to make a donation, please contact us to see how you can access the online classes (register@ms-uk.org).

About Amanda

Amanda has been teaching Pilates since 2005 and practising it for even longer. Amanda’s approach to exercise is perfect for managing and improving long-term conditions. It works the whole body from the inside out to create a lengthened body, stable joints, balance, strength and flexibility’.   

Amanda is experienced working with individuals with neurological conditions such as multiple sclerosis, Parkinson’s and stroke.
