Tuesday Drop-in Peer Pod

multiple sclerosis support group on Tuesdays

Tuesdays at 3pm

Our multiple sclerosis support group on Tuesdays welcomes anyone living with multiple sclerosis. There is no set theme, so conversations can be around any topics that you’d like, whether MS related or not.

If you are interested in joining this or any of our Peer Pods, or would like more information, please fill in our enquiry form by clicking the button. Vicky, our Peer Support Coordinator will be in touch with you shortly.

These Tuesday Drop-in Peer Pod sessions are hosted by our volunteers, Sarah and Gail. Everyone is welcome, so please do come and say hello – the more the merrier!

Meet the hosts!

Sarah

Sarah from the Tuesday drop-in Peer podHi, I’m Sarah and I volunteered to be one of MS-UK’s Peer Supporters and host a regular online Peer Pod to help keep people living with multiple sclerosis (MS) connected. It’s all about keeping connected and having a good old chat, share experiences, ask questions or just listen and get to know everyone. So grab a tea, coffee or your favourite drink and join me anytime between 3pm and 4pm on alternate Tuesdays. Hope to see you there!

Gail

Gail Sunday Peer pod hostI was diagnosed with RRMS in 2022 after having frequent unexplainable falls that I couldn’t get up from. Then while driving I suddenly started seeing two of everything. I managed to turn the car around and safely get home, that was the last time I ever drove

When I was diagnosed, I was just so relieved that it wasn’t a brain tumour that I decided to just accept things and view it as the next chapter of my life.

I was given ill health retirement from my job with Nottinghamshire County Council as, for me, I found that living with MS was a fulltime job. Luckily, I have an amazing and supportive husband who has embraced this new stage of our lives with the grace and wisdom it needs (and I know not everyone, with or without MS is lucky enough to say that).

I love the peer pods, especially the Drop-Ins, because it gives me a chance to meet people with MS from all over the country. We don’t always talk about MS, but when we do I know that the people I’m talking to “get it”.

My aim in being a Peer Pod host is for people to leave the pod feeling better than when they came in. We have humour, we share knowledge (not just MS knowledge – I recently learnt who Olly Murs is!) and it is a safe space for people to talk about the realities of life without judgement.
