As the summer temperatures rise, our Helpline team are ready to host an informative discussion on how heat can impact multiple sclerosis (MS) symptoms. We’ll take a look at the tips and strategies for managing heat intolerance to help you stay cool and comfortable.
We understand that heat sensitivity can significantly affect daily life for those with MS and our goal is to provide you with practical solutions. During our session, you’ll hear the latest information from the team and also have the opportunity to share with others your own effective techniques and personal experiences with managing heat.
Participants will learn about the prevalence of heat intolerance among MS patients, the underlying mechanisms and common triggers. We’ll discuss the exacerbation of neurological symptoms (Uhthoff’s phenomenon), increased fatigue, cognitive changes and muscle weakness.
By the end of the session, you will have an understanding of how heat intolerance affects MS symptoms and practical strategies to manage and ease its effects. Our structured approach ensures the session is not only informative, but also interactive and engaging for attendees. Join us for this important discussion and discover new ways to beat the heat this summer!
Our blog on heat sensitivity has some quick and easy tips to stay cool.
