Introduction to MS-UK’s peer pods

Tuesday 23 January at 2pm

Have you heard about our peer support service? Ever wanted to get involved with one of our peer pods and be part of our growing online community of MSer’s?

Join us on Tuesday 23 January for a chance to take a look at our peer support service which includes our weekly, fortnightly and monthly peer pods for people to come together and share experiences of multiple sclerosis (MS).

We will hear from our Peer Support Coordinator Vicky Timmins who will give us an overview of all our peer pods, the feedback received from our online community and a look at which pods might be right for you. Please visit our peer support page to take a look at the range of pods we have available. To get involved with the peer pods at any time, please complete our contact form to be sent details.

The session is free to attend and is a great opportunity if you having been waiting to get involved with the peer pods. Please visit our YouTube channel here to hear Amanda talk about her experiences being involved with our peer pods.

We will then welcome a few of our peer pod volunteers who host the pods for MS-UK and hear their personal stories of MS, how the pods have helped them and how our community online helps to support people living with MS.

To understand more about what the pods offer and hear the impact they have for people living with MS, please see below the feedback we have received from those who attend the pods.

Feedback from our current peer pod attendees

“I am a Peer Pod volunteer host and although I have a very supportive family, the Peer Pod community has been instrumental in helping me avoid “MS isolation”. Hosting my Peer Pod has also helped me through some very challenging health problems over the last couple of years by giving me a strong sense of purpose.”

“The peer pods have provided an absolute lifeline for me personally. It has meant the world to meet others who know exactly what I’m going through and who make me feel ‘normal’. I have made a new group of friends who provide much needed support every single day and I look forward to the peer pods every week.”

“Some MS issues were causing me concern, but I was able to discuss with the group and gain advice and support. Whatever the problem, another member of the pod has been through it and can share their own experience.”

“This is an amazing service that provides vital support to people living with MS and their carers. I’ve heard so many stories of how the service is supporting people and it’s their lifeline. I’ve made so many amazing friends from attending.”
