multiple sclerosis course

“I have learned new skills in dealing with my condition along with making new friends within the group”

Sarah Atkinson shares her MS story and how MS-UK has helped her to manage symptoms better

I was diagnosed with relapsing-remitting multiple sclerosis (MS) in 2002 but have been secondary progressive since 2013.

I have reduced mobility nowadays and use a rollator indoors and a wheelchair for outdoor use.

I suffer from nerve pain, altered sensations, stiffness and spasms on a daily basis along with regular fatigue issues.

I have used MS-UK’s Helpline in the past and found them very friendly, helpful and supportive. I look forward to receiving emails regarding upcoming activities too.

There was a very good ‘Walking with MS’ masterclass which I watched, and I learned a lot.

Then in March 2022, I took part in the Mindfulness four-week course with the lovely Yvette Sargood. The course was very enjoyable, practical, informative and compassionate, and I have learned new skills in dealing with my condition along with making new friends within the group. I continue using mindfulness techniques on a regular basis.
