Essex university taking on the MS-UK Connect24 challenge

Essex University takes on the Connect24 challenge!

Kaitlan and her squad at Essex University Esports wanted to support people with multiple sclerosis by taking part in Connect24, MS-UK’s gaming challenge!

“Back in January, we met up with MS-UK and spoke about taking part in their gaming event, Connect24! The challenge was to stream a gameathon for a total of 24 hours. We couldn’t resist the challenge and it was quickly decided Essex University Esports was doing a 24-hour charity livestream.

Some of our Executives and game representatives took turns streaming for six consecutive hours. Georgia, our Vice President, and Head of Esports, Max, focused on competitive gaming such as Valorant and League of Legends. Our Game Representative, Isa, and I focused on causal play like It Takes Two and Pokémon.

I would like to say it was a hard challenge (fuelled by energy drinks) but this is what we would’ve been doing anyway and we had a great time doing it!

We are still amazed at how in such a small amount of time we managed to raise £230, hitting our goal of £50 in the first 25 minutes of the stream! So huge thank you to everyone that donated and good luck to those that try this challenge.
