Call for participants!Published: 05 July 2024 ‘Exploring the Lives of Disability Benefit Claimants in the UK’ research project Hi! My name is Lilly and I am a PhD researcher at the University of Bristol. MS-UK has kindly offered to share my project with members of the MS community. In this research project, I am investigating how people with disabilities experience claiming disability benefits in the UK. As of 2023, over 6.3 million people in the UK claim disability benefits (House of Commons, 2023). From both personal experience and the experiences shared by others, I understand that claiming benefits can be a stressful, complex, and time-consuming process. I want to understand how people with MS feel about their benefits (such as the application process, tribunals, or awards), and how claiming disability benefits impacts their lives. This is where I ask for your help! I am looking for people to share their experiences with disability benefits. This is a space where you can speak openly, share your story and help enact change. I am looking for people who fall under one of the following categories You are a current disability benefits applicant/claimant. You are a former disability benefits applicant/claimant. You have supported the application of a disability benefits applicant/claimant (e.g. as a carer). If you would like to take part in this research project, please get in contact. Phone, text, and Whatsapp 07497237176 Email lilly.buonasorte@bristol.ac.uk Your experiences are invaluable, and your contribution could make a significant difference. Thank you!
