Join us for an informative session to learn more about Shift.ms, a global community created by and for people living with MS. Whether you’re newly diagnosed, have been living with MS for some time or are simply curious about the support available, this session offers a welcoming space to explore how connection and shared experience can make a difference.
The session will provide you with a clear understanding of who they are, what they offer, and how you can benefit from being part of a supportive, understanding community.
You’ll hear from Shift.ms Community Manager, Elanor Bate who will start by sharing the story behind Shift.ms, why it was created and the impact it aims to have. You’ll learn how the charity supports people with MS through peer-to-peer connection, honest conversations, and accessible resources that reflect real lived experiences.
We’ll take a closer look at one of our core services, the Buddy Network. You’ll learn
This is a great opportunity to understand how one-to-one peer support can help reduce isolation and provide meaningful connection.
We’ll also be joined by a member of the community who has taken part in the Buddy Network. They’ll share their personal MS journey, what led them to join the programme, and how being matched with a Buddy has supported them. This honest insight helps bring the experience to life and shows the real impact of peer support.
We’ll close the session with a relaxed question and answer, giving you the chance to ask any questions you may have. Both the Community Manager and our guest Buddy will be there to share their perspectives and provide further insight.
Shift.ms is a free, independent online community for people with MS, created by MSers, for MSers. Since launching in 2009, the charity has grown into a global community of over 37,000 members. Its mission is to help people make sense of MS as early as possible after diagnosis, offering a supportive space where individuals can connect, share experiences, and learn from one another. Through its online community, storytelling films, and initiatives like the Buddy Network, Shift.ms provides both emotional support and access to trusted, experience-led information. In 2024, Shift.ms released their app to bring more tailored content to the community of over 90,000 MSers.
At its core, Shift.ms believes that an MS diagnosis doesn’t mean giving up ambitions, but rather rethinking how to achieve them. The community helps reduce isolation, anxiety, and depression, while empowering members to adapt to life with MS and make informed choices about their health and future. Grounded in the value of lived experience, Shift.ms actively involves its members in shaping everything it does, while working towards long-term sustainability to continue supporting MSers worldwide.
